Training: Implementation Training

Implementation Training

March 05, 2008

Practical Parenting Partnerships begins with implementation training for a school team comprised of at least one administrator and other individuals (classroom teacher, counselor, social worker, school nurse, etc.) from the school community. The school PPP team receives a set of comprehensive curriculum materials to be used in a variety of ways. Workshops, complete with overhead masters, handouts, information sheets and family activities, cover many topics such as discipline, stress, nutrition, homework, sibling relationships, and communication in four PPP Notebooks: Family Systems, Lifespan Development, Wellness, and Home/School Relationships. Training also helps schools plan for their local programs - forming an advisory board, building a parent resource center, considering who and what activities are already involved in parenting issues, working in teams and garnering support, planning activities, and deciding possible funding sources.

Join a growing number of schools who are participating in the Practical Parenting Partnerships (PPP) program. Take advantage of this golden opportunity to build stronger ties between home, school and community.

To initiate and maintain a PPP program, a team from the school (at least one administrator and one parent educator/facilitator) must attend a two-day training session.

Trainings can be specially arranged for other states with a group of at least 20 participants.

Cost:

$410 for first team member (includes resource notebooks)

$225 each for additional team member

Lodging is not included in the registration cost.
