Promoting Math at Home

Mathematical skills are practiced daily at home and school.  Math is such a part of our daily lives that learning opportunities are plentiful.  Teachers can provide tips and strategies to families to help promote math instruction in the homes of their students.  It is important that children learn the basic skills of mathematics and memorize math facts, but it is also important for math calculations to have meaning to them.  Families can help make math meaningful and relate it to real life.  We will discuss how schools can help families do this.
