South Iron County R-I
Many things make the South Iron District a special place to work. The district spends three times the amount required on professional development. A generous tuition reimbursement plan encourages staff to pursue graduate hours. Recognition of employee effort and accomplishment is ongoing.
District staff takes pride in the School-Age Child Care program where teachers provide a safe, educational environment beyond the regular school day. Reaching out to all children and their families, the entire district completed PPP In-the-Classroom training.
The training, recognition and work yield dividends. At both the elementary and high school, over ninety-five percent of parents participated in parent/teacher conferences. Surveys show teachers look forward to work, while student attendance last year averaged over ninety-five percent. The district was recently Credited with Distinction for Improving Performance by the Missouri School Improvement Program.
