Partnering For Success Annual Conference

Practical Parenting Partnerships (PPP) has offered a highly successful family involvement conference for over ten years. Beginning in 2009 the conference will give increased attention to the community portion of home, school, community partnerships and will be a collaborative effort with partners from education, health, and social work.

Traditionally, families with school age children have joined with educators for the conference known as Family Festival. Sessions for families will be offered throughout the conference for those students who are on spring break. The majority of family sessions will be held on Friday evening and Saturday.

A recent Missouri survey, conducted by MSSN, identified five challenges to student success. These five areas include parent involvement, funding and sustainability, mental health and community services, attendance, and effective instructional practices in alternative settings. Because the conference team believes these are important topics to all involved in increasing student success, we are planning sessions to address each identified area.

Please mark your calendar and plan now to join us for the first annual Partnering for Success: Home, School and Community Conference on April 3 - 4, 2009 at Tan- Tar-A.

Partners include: Practical Parenting Partnerships, Missouri Student Success Network, Mo Department of Health and Senior Services, Mo Dept of Elementary and Secondary Education, Mid-Continent Comprehensive Center, NASW Missouri Chapter, Center for Advancement of Mental Health Practices in Schools and MO Administrators of Alternative Schools.

Conference registration includes: Friday Lunch, Friday Dinner, Saturday Breakfast and Saturday Lunch.
