Vickie is a mother of three and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with Certification in Early Childhood Education. She also holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Guidance and Counseling. Prior to working with Practical Parenting Partnerships, Vickie was employed as an Elementary teacher for 6 years until accepting a position as Elementary Guidance Counselor. During the 4 years she served in this capacity, Vickie became the District Test Coordinator and Director of Guidance. She is still a member of the Missouri School Counselors’ Association, as well as other professional organizations. She is a registered trainer with OPEN. She has been working as the Resource Coordinator at Practical Parenting Partnerships for 4 years.
Resource Coordinator responsibilities include:
- Primary responsibility for organizing and reviewing library materials for the model parenting library
- Writing and updating materials for schools to disseminate to staff and parents, such as A Parent’s Guide to the MAP, A Parent’s Guide to the Grade Level Expectations, A Parent’s Guide to NCLB, and the Reading and Retention brochure
- Providing those trained in PPP with helpful web sites, book ideas and grant opportunities through the PPP Newsletter
- Coordinating the mailing and creation of topical Resource Lending Packets
- Search and apply for grants
- PPP Family Festival Exhibit Coordinator, PPP Pearl Awards, Great Place to Work Award, PPP VIPs
- Dissemination and collection of Annual Surveys
- Production of PPP Videos
