Families and Divorce

By Shelly Lock

March 06, 2008

Divorce and remarriage have become common family transitions that are experienced by many children.  Although most children eventually adjust well, family changes are stressful for most children.  What can schools do to help children experiencing these transitions?  How can schools work effectively with divorced and/or remarried parents to provide a supportive environment for their children?  This workshop provides information on how children respond to divorce at different ages and practical ideas and resources for working in partnership with families to support children through the processes of divorce and remarriage.  This workshop was developed by University of Missouri Outreach and Extension and will be presented by one of their specialists.
