We are able to achieve when we can envision hope, meaning and purpose for the future. Find out how the message of hope for our children can inspire achievement. Discussion will include the factors that develop coping skills in children and lead them to trust in themselves and their abilities. We will review both internal and external developmental assets. We will share how to develop hope through instructional methods and strategies, including parent involvement and how standards and assessment can help parents, teachers, and community members provide positive and consistent messages to children about achievement. The Parent’s Guide to the MAP will be discussed as a tool for families and communities to understand Missouri’s assessment program.
