School Climate: How Warm Is Your School?

By Shelly Lock

March 06, 2008

This session examines school climate and its effect on student, family, faculty and community relationships in schools.  What type of climate does your school radiate?  Are school staff welcoming and respectful of all families and community members?  What can schools do to foster better relations with families and community members?  Creating a warm environment that invites all families, students, faculty, and community members to share and participate enables individuals to feel more connected to schools.  During this session, participants consider their school climate and approaches to enhancing relationships between students, families, faculty and community members.
