Information and Application for the Annual PPP Pearl Awards
Practical Parenting Partnerships annually recognizes schools as PPP Pearl sites. Schools are recognized for their successes in promoting effective PPP/parent involvement initiatives throughout the school year. These initiatives, or dimensions, are now state required under Senate Bill 480.
Each winning site is presented a certificate and a $200 coupon to be used toward PPP materials, training, regional workshops or Annual Conference, as a well deserved reward for their efforts.
The Application
To apply for this award and recognition as a PPP Pearl site, highlight your parent involvement activities by completing the application (Click Here). The application is due to the PPP Center by March 15, 2010.
You may address all six dimensions or just one dimension. For example, if you decide to address Dimensions II and IV, please type Dimension II, write about your efforts and then proceed to Dimension IV.
Keep it short! We suggest your entire application not exceed two pages. A good rule of thumb is to keep each dimension to one paragraph in length. All PPP sites are welcome to use the Continuum of Development for Parent Involvement poster as a guide in applying.
A committee of readers will select a leading PPP site for each of the six dimensions of parent involvement. The readers will also select one overall model site for combining strengths across categories. The six category winners and the overall model PPP site will be announced in the newsletter and recognized at our Annual Conference - Partnering for Success: School, Family & Community, scheduled for April 3-4, 2009..
